How do I sign-up and sign-in?

  1. Create your user id and password
  2. Login and notice "Edit" in top left corners of each feature
  3. Follow these instructions and use help instructions as needed
  4. Answer profile questions, add your photo, update settings and "My Settings"
  5. Configure "My Settings,"and theme, appearance and features under "Manage/My Settings"

 

 

What are profile questions and why respond to these?

  1. Profile questions are the best way the ORGANIZER can get acquainted with the new participant members and be able to engage them in the network.
  2. Your answers to profile questions can be seen by anybody visiting your "MyPage."
  3. This information is not used for any other purpose except networking and information resource sharing.

 

 

 

How do I author a blog on "MyPage"?

  1. Go to "My Page/My Blog" and "Add New Blog Post" or manage blog
  2. Author or select article with title for blog
  3. Select and size photo and upload directly in blog with media icon
  4. Format bold, italic, alignment
  5. Add links to blog with icon, tag and set date
  6. Save document

 

How do I add or view photos?

  1. Go to "Photos" and +"Add Photo"
  2. To Edit go to "Photos/My Photos" and "Edit Photos"
  3. Select photos and organize in folders on desktop
  4. Photos can be bulk uploaded or browsed one-at-a-time Note: The network will auto-size photos
  5. Be patient for upload, then title group, tag group, name each photo and upload
  6. Then you can create an album and title

 

How do I create or change photo albums?

  1. Photos can be configured for a slide show under “Edit Photos” under "My Page/My Photos"
  2. In the alternative organize photos in Flickr and get an API key

 

How do I add music?

  1. Go to +"Add Music" and upload your music
  2. Configure music feature and upload mp3's directly
  3. In the alternative an audio player can be embedded in a text feature and sized accordingly in html code

 

How do I add video?

  1. Go to "Videos" and +"Add Video"
  2. To Edit go to "Videos/My Videos" and "Edit Video"
  3. Configure video feature
  4. Upload video directly in Ning OR copy embed code from YouTube or GoogleVideo
  5. Locate feature on left OR right column OR in center
  6. Size video player accordingly in html code

 

What is an RSS feed?

  1. RSS means "really simple syndication"
  2. An RSS feed is an automatically generated content source that propagates live on your "MyPage."
  3. You can select a "del.icio.us" feed, or any other feed from the Internet and feature it on your "MyPage."

 

How do I create an RSS feed for "MyPage"?

  1. RSS means "really simple syndication"
  2. Open www.del.icio.us account, bookmark and tag
  3. Select a tag, copy and paste RSS feed URL in RSS feature box

 

How do I invite members to the network?

  1. Go to “Members/Invite More People”
  2. Enter their email and a message
  3. Upload addresses in formats given
  4. Manage friends under "Members/My Friends"

 

How do I join a discussion on the main page or in a group?

  1. Join whatever groups and discussions/forums are of interest to you and follow instructions
  2. Go to "Groups/My Groups" and "Join a Group"
  3. Go to "Forum/My Discussions" and "Start a Discussion"
  4. Go to "Events/My Events" and Add an Event"

 

How do I organize content for ease of updating and keeping "MyPage" fresh and alive?

  1. Organize text, articles and documents on desktop
  2. Organize photos in iPhoto or a comparable program
  3. Size photos in Photoshop or another desktop application from thumbnail 100, 144, 288 or 432 pixels wide
  4. Organize music and podcasts in iTunes or comparable program
  5. Organize videos or flash in VodPod or YouTube, GoogleVideo or YahooVideo
  6. Organize and tag favorite bookmarks in del.icio.us for rss feeds directly into Ning
